A Tisket, A Tasket ...

While visiting the North Carolina Arboretum today, Easter Sunday, I noticed a new flower bed with an interesting design. Who knew you could add a handle of twine to your flower bed, plant flowers in a "basket" design and then, voila, a basket of flowers appears. I was also practicing with my new camera, a Nikon D7000 and manual settings and was very pleased with the outcome.

I know the subject should not be in the direct center of an image, but somehow I think this works, as the basket fills the entire frame. I posted this image in this gallery as I used the Glamour Glow preset in Color Efex Pro as I wanted a softer look.

Camera is a Nikon D7000, manual, f11, polarizing filter.

Happy Easter to all. Comments and critiques are always appreciated.

Very nice treatment. I really like the touches of color amid all the beautiful greens. The basket handle really provides visual interest and acts as a nice framing device. as well.
