<B>Azure Kingfisher</b> <I>Alcedo azurea</i>

This is the same bird as I posted a few days back, taken a few minutes later after he turned around. Once again cropped from a horizontal frame, I had moved about a metre closer for this shot.

Taken with a Canon T90 + 500 mm f4.5L + 1.4x with 300TL & BB. About 1/60 @ f6.3 on reala. All comments welcome.

Gorgeous colors on this guy, Chris. If my memory serves me correctly I saw one of these at the Crocodile Farm just outside of Cairns, and he was just as vivid as your photo shows.

I really like the composition of beak and branch. The colors of the background and branch really set off the peach and blue of the bird.

That is amazing color on this kingfisher Chris. Nice simple shot, but loaded with detail and color.
