Another denizen of arid Australia. They get around in noisy groups feeding on the ground using their curved bill to dig around in the leaf litter. When moving between feeding sites they they clamber up on to low perches and fly low and straight to the next site.

Love the composition and background of this image Rob, and the fact the subject is so wonderfully sharp and detailed, a real treat for the eyes :^)

Love that name, "babbler." I take it this species calls a lot. Nice simple comp with a great perch and BG. Well done as per usual.

Very nice. I can't get enough of these understated monochrome images. Reminds me a lot of our Cactus Wren - at least the bill and face.

Lovely BG and shot! It does resemble a Cactus Wren, I must agree.

Tough bird to get still for long - he looks like he's just about to spring off again. Very sharp and exposure is spot-on too.
