A striking bare Alligator Juniper with orange lichens in the Organ Mountains, New Mexico
I was attracted to the contrasting textures and patterns and the soft overcast light made the colors pop!

Alligator Juniper. What a cool tree. I like the comp. Feels just a tad over-exposed, but that could easily be my post-pseudo-crash-new-firefox-4.x.y.z-maybe-not-quite-calibrated-right monitor.

Hey Tony
must be your monitor
The print is absolutely not over -exposed!

Gorgeous tree, composition and colors. Textures are sweet, too. Seems oversharpened to me, although I'm sure with this detail the jpeg just doesn't do it justice. Would love to see a print of this one, Steve.

Great tree!! Well composed and love the stark tree against the lush background.

I would agree with Bret that it looks a little over-sharpened to me, but no bigee.

Beautiful tree Stephan. I love its long reaching arms and colors but it does look a little over sharpened.

There seem to be processing issues as already mentioned, but the composition really strikes a chord with me, mainly the centered trunk and branches reaching out beyond the frame. I'd love to see a black and white version, with the greens darkened down to really focus on the tree.
