A fluffed up Short-billed Dowitcher from Tigertail Beach, Marco Island, FL. I thought the pose and DOF worked out well here.

I appreciate your comments and critiques. Please view the larger version if possible.

Canon 7D, 500mm + 1.4x TC, skimmer groundpod, lying on the sand.

f/7.1, 1/1000, ISO 640 (no NR this time)

Delightful ruffled pose, love the raised foot, and the water/water action is excellent.

Love the wonderfully low angle of view you acquired Brian, and the lighting, detail, and pose make this image a real pleasure to look at :^)

Great image Brian, I love everything about this. The pose is wonderful especially with the fluffed up wings. I see no need for NR in this image at all.

Wow, Brian, you're "lying in the sand" series is really great. I think this one is my favorite: the pose and lighting are excellent. Re: noise level. It looks fine to me. However, I did import it into my Topaz De-noise 5 to have a good look at what acceptable noise looks like. Interestingly, slight luminance and color noise are visible in a magnified view with strong lighting. You could remove them (likely without perceptible effect on detail). However, from the comments and from what I can see here it's obviously not necessary. :toast:

Nice light here. I'm also liking the leg position and ruffled feathers.

Brian,
Pretty sure you had to dust your self off after this shot. Very nice low angle. The raised foot and the fluffed up feathers all add to the image. This is just superb in every way Brian. No need for NR.
