Lesser Yellowlegs
by Richard Teller
Yesterday I was at one of the lakes on the North Plate National Wildlife Refuge and there were a lot of water fowl on the lake. At least a dozen different ducks, mergansers, grebes, pelicans, coots, cormorants, herons plus raptors and others birds. There were a few shore birds and these Yellowlegs gave me a few shots including this fly by. Retirement is fun. I can go when there are not crowds and many time have a place all to myself. Your comments are welcome and appreciated.

3 commentsI like that the flight poses of the yellowlegs are different, it adds interest and tension to the image. Yellowlegs fly fairly fast so kudos for getting them in flight. There are a few whites over 255 in the rump of the front bird and the rump & flank of the bird in the rear, you may be able to bring those down in RAW (if this was shot in RAW) and tickle out a little more detail in those areas.
