These Eagles tussle over a carp at the Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge in Seneca Falls, NY. They were photographed with a Canon 5D MarkII, 400 2.8 lens at 1/6000, f4, ISO 500.

Very nice behavioral shot with the two juvenilles down and the adult trying to usurp supper. The detail shows well in the large version.

Nice detail. All three birds seem to be in focus. This is a very typical behavior for eagles. If they can steal a meal they will. Nice shot.

Kevin,

I like the action shown here a lot, it is great behavior and creates a nice tension in your image. It makes me wonder what happened next. The colors look nice & natural and I like the composition you used.

To my eye the image looks slightly oversharpened; the larger version more so, as the feathers in areas look crunchy. The background also looks as if it has been sharpened, I would suggest masking and sharpening only your primary subjects to eliminate the noise that sharpening the background can cause along with the thin halo I detect around the birds.

Excellent timing to get all 3 separated and in interesting positions, it looks like a darkish overcast day. Nice image Kevin :toast:

Like the action, esp the one coming in with the talons out. Interesting image, and good techs, Kevin.
