Can you hear me now?

I came upon about 20 of these little guys and gals in a small pond near my home. I heard them long before I found them. Eastern American Toads only go to water to mate.

Tech stuff: canon 7d, Tamron 200-400mm @390mm, f6, 1/250 sec, ISO 100

Monopod w/ball head. No filters or polarizer

C&C welcome

Neven, I LOVE the title you gave this image, and I really like the comp. It would be really nice if the back of the toad was just a tiny bit lighter/brighter so we could see the details better. I really enjoy this image and seeing the water and vegetation around the toad.

Barbara, Thanks for the C&C! I tried your advice and selected the toad's back to lighten a bit. is this any better?

Neven, that's wonderful. Perfect. I love frogs and toads, and this is a wonderful, natural image of a toad.

As interesting as this shot is, I have to admit the only reason I clicked to open your thread Neven was that seeing it was a frog apparently calling and then reading your title had me LOL ;^)

Nice behavioral shot showing natural habitat, but the title is still the thing that appeals to me most :^)

I like that you caught him broadcasting! It sounds like they are going full force right now! If you have opportunity to recreate the shooting, you might try for lowest possible camera angle, if you can find a conducive background. I agree the repost as per Barbara's suggestion is an improvement.
