Subtle Yosemite Falls

From one of the recent storms in Yosemite. This was the big clearing of the day. With the thick storm, was trying to get moody waterfall images.

Canon 5d II
Canon 24-70 2.8

Thanks for the time and comments.

This is nice Robb. I wish I had gotten these conditions when I was there last month. The comp looks good to me. On my monitor, the mid-ground snow seems a little bright, but I can't tell if it's blown out or not.

Robb, it is impressive how you managed the different structures from the delightful snow formations in the foreground to the mighty falls in the background! I appreciate the delicate colors and the natural, wintry look of your image. Excellent composition and processing!

Now, this is a great way to make an entrance. You nailed the snowy conditions with this fine comp.

It’s nice the way it is and I bet you could get some fine portrait crops from this file, too.
Keep them coming.

Now that is real subtle Robb! If you don't open the thumbnail you don't see the prize here. Unfortunately most of the life of an image here begins as a thumbnail.

Hi Rob,

You had some wonderful and challenging conditions to work with, here. I like all the textures and the snow hats are just great!
The detail is excellent and the monochromatic color really works.

btw: Thanks for your comment on my earlier post of the maples in Yosemite. I do remember meeting you at your place in Groveland. Hopefully, we can meet up again!

Cheers,

Lovely shot Robb - makes me just want to walk right into it and then stop for some quiet contemplation.
