If Mondrian Farmed

I shot this image from a balloon over the Snohomish Valley in Washington. I really liked the patterns created by the layout of fields and irrigation ditches and brought to life by the setting sun. They reminded me of the geometry one might see in some works of Klee or Mondrian. Thank goodness for lens stabilizers. 1/13 @ f/5.6; 67mm; ISO 100; Canon EOS 5D MkII.

Craig,

Eye catching, the extremely long shadow thrown by the trees, provides a unique tension against the ordered squares of the man made geometry of fields, ditches and lanes. Cool.

I really like the geometric shapes, especially the repeating triangles. The leading lines and textures are nice too. I'm new to the Photo Art realm but to me this image could fall under the Man & Nature umbrella too. Well seen Craig.

Lovely shot! The large blocks of color do remind me of Klee or Mondrian. The few, but stark lines add a lot.

Well done, Craig. The angle of the light really makes this image. The color is rich and the geometric shapes add a lot of interest. Amazing what a couple hundred feet of elevation will do...nice capture.
