Viola tricolor

Busy weeks at work and I don't manage to be present as I'd like, anyway here an image taken two days ago in the Western Alps.
This is one of the first shots taken with my new 10 mm fish eye.
I chose this lens for some imaginative pic but also for its magnification ratio of 1:3.3, that allows to be as close as 3/4 of an inch from the lens.
I like how this lens shows the flower and its surrounding.

Canon 40D 10mm Sigma
f11 1/500
ISO 400
-0,33

Thanks for viewing.
C&C are very welcome.

Nice shot, Monica- Exposure and composition are very tough with this kind of image (and lens) , and you've done a fine job with this one- Well done, Fabio

Love the comp. Monica, nice job with the detailed pansy and OOF Alps in the BG.

Very well done Monica. I don't think it is so easy to manage this kind of lens.

What makes this shot interesting is the extreme WA lens and the closeness of the flower, making the tiny viola bigger in the frame than the Alps. Good use of DOF as well to have the mountains OOF but readily discernible. Nice job.

I like the creativity in this Monica and the composition. I like this image as posted but will also be interested in seeing what else you do with the 10mm. The hills in the bg distract me in this - mostly their color. I like the mountains but I wish the sky was behind the yellow flower rather than the greyish brown hill. Would be hard to get that pov though. (smile)

Monica:
A very interesting perspective with this lens. Like the inclusion of the bg landscape and the lone flower in the fg.
Love tho hear more about this lens as I am comtemplating getting the Sigma 10-20mm WA for landscape.

Excellent use of this lens Monica..
Really like the compositional layers, great light & colors..I especially like the way the comp moves from flower, to hillside, and distant peaks..I owned the Sigma 10-20mm, but let it go because it would not work with the 1D M3
Very well done! :toast:

A very original perspective for the little beautiful violet. I love the good photos taken with this anti macro lens. Bravissima.

A wonderful setting for this lovely flower, Monica ! The flower has almost a majesty about it the way you have placed it in the frame.
