Big Blue

Dawn on Island Pond. Captured this the Summer of 2010 in the North Maine Woods. Early July in northern Maine this particular morning waiting for the sun to rise the temperature was about 40 degrees.

In addition, I am standing (with wadders which didn't seem to help with the cold) in water much colder then the outside air, so one could say I was a little blue myself. (not mood, but literally my color). Ahhh, I love the balmy Summer in northern Maine. Enjoy and thanks for any comments and/or suggestions.

Beautiful shot David. I love the mood here - so quiet and peaceful. Excellent composition as well. 40 degrees in July  , that beats 80 degrees at sunrise (w/ 95% humidity) here in Florida. This would look GREAT printed large. There is a bit of a halo around the top of the trees.

Beautiful shot. I really like the composition with the large rock in the forground.

Ahhh... incredibly peaceful an beautiful. I love your choice of shutter speed for such a smooth surface on the water - and the soft reflected light on the water adds a lovely touch. The relative size of the rocks in the foreground in relation to the distant shoreline adds such a great sense of depth. Gorgeous shot, David!
