Green Darner dragonfly

We seem to have a dragonfly/damselfly theme going on here! This dragonfly sat for a long time on a flower of the Rose-of-Sharon bush and allowed me ample time to get many pictures. The background was quite busy however, so I cropped it in fairly close to get rid of some of the background. Such beautiful creatures!

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28. 65mm at F4/5 for 1/400 sec. ISO 100.

Carolyn:
Yes, DF are really beautiful and I really like taking pictures of them. Nice details in this one and the blue on the body looks great. This one may be marginally oversharpened as halo is starting to form.

The colors are the most striking element of this image, Carolyn. The pastel hues compliment each other perfectly. I love the intricate detail in the wings... and the incredible body structure between them. The depth of field is just perfect. The close crop works for me - and the composition is just right. Very nice work. I love it!

The light, detail and dof and colors are amazing on this . Really f4.5? Looks so much more. I really like your crop and comp as well.
