Lonely Tracks

We live in North Dakota for a few years and I traveled the state a lot. One evening I came across this abandoned grain elevator right at sunset. I got down very close to the tracks and took the image. It was take in the film days on slide film. I do not have any techs for the image. Your comments are welcome and appreciated.

Great picture! I really like the comp you chose for this. The grain elevator is nicely balanced by the receding train tracks and the low POV.. A peaceful picture that gives a sense of the calmness of dawn before the workday hustle begins.

Nice comp and linse Richard. The orange glow and silhouettes work for me.

I like the soft light on the grain elevator, and the glow on the tracks is a bonus. The overall feel is very familiar and comfortable for me, well done, Richard.

This is a great shot! As a former midwesterner, elevators hold a special place. This partial silhouette with some detail in the side works very well. The skylight on the railroad tracks really adds distance as the third dimension.

Really nice the way the light illuminates just enough of the foreground features to tell your story. Very compelling and serene, at once.

Lovely lines here and I like the subtle glow on the horizon and the colour it reflects on the tracks! :toast:

Just enough detail on the dark side of the elevator for me. The tracks take my mind away to wondering where they lead. Nice shot!

Richard, your composition is serene and exciting at the same time! The vanishing railroad tracks add a kind of uncertainty. I like this image a lot.
