I had the delight to visit Rocky Mountain NP two weekends ago. There was an elk and family on a rise before dawn. I lusted to have them stay to be backlit by the sunrise, but alas, the sun rose to a bare rise. I added the sun and hope you like my vision.

Steve,
I probably wouldn't have noticed that it is a "composed" image if you hadn't mentioned it. Very nice work

A most attractive shot, beautifully created in PS. I like it a lot.

You're going to think I am crazy, but I wish the two rear legs didn't merge. I am no elkspert, but when I had the chance to photograph them the hardest, most fun part was watching with trigger finger ready for just the right pose.

Great example of using Photoshop to create a realistic rendition of something the could have happened, but just didn't.

Steven,
What a stunning image. I would never have guess that it was two! Great PS work. I know what you mean about hoping for an image and not getting it. Same happened to me in Newfoundland and I created the whale with the iceberg. They were both there, but moments apart, just like yours. Well done.

BTW, I agree about the inner frame. A simple black and thin white would have looked better.

Diane
this is one photo, not two. I used the eliptical marquee tool and made a circle, then lightened the circle. That is all. I was surprised at how well it worked.
