Duckin the rain

So we have had lot's of rain this past week but I still headed out for some shots out my car window. I spotted this pair in a local water hole while it was raining and thought it would be a good time to test my higher ISO settings on my newe MIII. I'm very happy with the lack of noise at this setting. It was dark and rainy and just kinda dull out.So I had to bump up the ISO and hit the exp comp up since it was brightly backlit.

Very nice image quality for this ISO. Especially with so little light in the shadows.

Cheryl, I like the pose and your comp with the ripples and veg. I think it could stand some CW rotation.

Beautiful colours and detail Cheryl, and I love the preening pose :^)

Only small thing I'm thinking that might have added more to this image is if you hadn't have had the 1.4 TC attached, as chances are we might have been able to see the full reflection of the subject in the water. Been in countless situations myself where it's real difficult to guess at whether having the extra reach that a TC will work in my favour at any given moment or not. All said, I still think this is a terrific image and thanks for sharing :^)

Cool preening pose and a balanced comp with the water plant left. Great details too.
I use ISO 640 regularly myself. You only just begin to see a bit of noise once you hit 800 +
Perhaps a slight CW rotation if you have the space & remove the stuff bottom left corner?
Well done Cheryl.
