Thought I'd give it a try. No post-processing to speak of except bg fill and some sharpening.
Scavenged flower, Epson Expression 1600 scanner, a little P'shop.
Thanks for looking and expressing your thoughts.

I sure like the color combinations and sharpness. Well done in my opinion.

Beautiful subject for a scan Catherine and just a beautiful image for that matter. Very rich color palette and it would be hard for me to imagine a better bg for the pink. For my tastes this is superb.

Catherine:
Classy image. Can't imagine a nice Camelia. The little blemish on the petal makes this more real.
Good to see you using the scanner. With more people doing the scans, I am seeing more possibilities with different flowers.

Nice trial, Catherine. I love the color, and I think this is a keep if you you go back into P'shop and clean up some of the flower blemishes.
Nice job.
Cheers,
Carol

I know I wasn't so creative about the title, Carol, but think of the image being called, "Once Upon a Time..." or "Then Life Happened" or "Still A Lovely Soul Within." For this image, the blemishes belong there.
Nice to see you shooting again, too.

Catherine, I admit to be biased about scanned images, but I must say that this flower has very pleasant light and colors. Brava!
Take care.

With images like this, we may have another scanaholic in the making. The flaws in the flower are pretty noticeable in the detail of this great scan, but that is really being nitpicky. Gorgeous image.

Catherine: Ditto what Pat and Gary said. Since they are the scan masters it looks like you're off to a great start. >=))>

And why not, indeed !!! A lovely image, Catherine - beautifully textured and coloured, sharp at the centre and, perhaps the nicest touch of all, fading at the edges into the darkness. This shows how you don't necessarily need the perfect specimen to shoot.

Beautifully done! Love the way the darkness recedes to the bg. Terrific color and detail.
