I know it's not a very original or even good title, but I'm terrible at thinking up titles. It just reminded me of something exploding or solar flares. As soon as I saw this flower, I knew I wanted to isolate the inside. The flower wasn't quite open enough for me to accomplish that, so I got in as close as I could and ended up having to clone out the top of the petals at the 4 corners.

Darwin Hybrid Tulip

Spectacular Michael. Love the symmetry and the relatively understated colors. Love this one.

Whoa Michael. Those yellow lines are awesome. I love the interest that those yellow lines add to the shot.

W  W, very "hot" Michael. Love how the detail is tack sharp in the centre and as it radiates out you get the impression of buring flames. Fantastic image.

Great job capturing the symmetrical design. Detail looks good. If it were mine, I'd try to even out the exposure.

Thanks to all for the comments. Scott, the right side was in the sun, and it did not dawn on me how much lighter it was than the shaded side, untill you mentioned it. Very good suggestion and thanks.

Man does this ever hit you in the face, and in a good way. Absolutely stunning work Michael! The colors and details are top-notch. My first thought matched Scott's, in that evening out the exposure on the two sides would really put this over the top.
If it were mine, I'd attack the left side and try to bring it up closer to the right because those colors are exceptional.

Pattern and colors are just splendid, Michael. Are colors that create the shapes, in this beautiful tulip.
Cheers.
