Ft DeSoto has a pair of reddish egrets one of them the white morph and she is so pretty right now. I finally splurged and got my MIII!I'm so happy with it and this is my first image to show. I only wished I was crouched at a lower angle but she kinda surprised me and I wasn't ready.
Canon 1D MIII
300 mm 2.8 L lens
ISO 320 f5.6 @ 1/4000 HH

Really nice Cheryl. Love the ruffled look and your great exposure. The light cream plummage looks pretty much spot on. The only thing I might do is add just a bit more to the right side, but that is a personal choice. Love it as posted.

wonderful pose, Cheryl! colors and exposure look great, and although I agree that a lower angle would have been great, I do like how you can see the shallow water at the feet from this angle. enjoy the new camera!

You nailed the exposure Cheryl, not easy with all that white plumage..
Very nice detail and natural colors with the puffed-up feathers a real big plus here

Cheryl,

That is magnificent! I love the clumped white feathers and frazzled look to the bird. Nice job on a tough exposure.

Sweet :toast: Catching a Reddish coming into breeding color is nice, but a white morph, very cool.

Great "fluff" Cheryl ! I didn't see the white morph when I was there a few weeks ago.

What a strikingly beautiful image Cheryl! :^)

Funnily enough, just the other day I was looking through your website and marveling at all your wonderful photos of Egrets. I was thoroughly enjoying myself when suddenly my internet connection went down, as unfortunately happens all too often ;^. I must confess to having forgotten to visit your site again until this pretty lady caught my eye, which serves as a perfect reminder, so thanks for that as well as this ;^)

Very much looking forward to seeing all the images you've posted up in your galleries, no matter how long it takes, and whatever else you'll capture with your new MKIII in days, weeks and months to come :^)

All the best :^)
