Back in January I had a shot like this but didn't nail focus cause it was too dark. Today i ran back out and got what I wanted. I have a been shooting a lot of new stuff for Meet Your Neighbours(http://meetyourneighbours.org/) so it was nice to change it up and get a landscape, even if at 400mm.

Thanks for looking!

This is great Paul, wonderful mood generated by the mist/fog. The low light levels add to this too. Comp is spot on.

Very nice Paul. the comp looks great, and the fog makes the light so soft and soothing. I tried to get something similar last Saturday and Sunday, but it was a mix of smoke and fog. Unfortunately, They had closed the road because it was so thick - I was bummed.

I have thought of doing a comp similar to this but I never came across the right landscape so I'm envious. I love everything about it.

Well titled, Paul. I like the mood that the fog makes possible.
There is good DOF to this image. That may be because the
fog helps to blur and make less distnct the more distanced trees,
giving this image more of a three-dimensional effect.

Because of the various concepts that can be read into this
portrayal, I see potential for sales with a stock agency.

Very cool . . . love the fog and the composition. Maybe I'd like it just a bit brighter, but it's a superb shot just as it is.

Nothing like knowing your own "backyard" well. Allows you to get shots like this so close to home. Beautifully simple. Well done!

Very cool. The effect of using the 400mm lens in the dense fog is interesting, with even the texture/color in the nearest and main subject being compromised by the atmosphere.

This is very nice Paul. The fog worked out great for this scene, and the 400mm did also. You captured a wonderful mood! Excellent work with the comp too.

Thanks guys, dunno if something changed with NPN but it doesn't look sharp to me, even the large. It is on FLickr and in Photomechanic. At 100% you can see water drops on the needles.

Just about perfect. I especially like the ever so slightly brighter center area. That was a masterstroke of 'development'.

I love this. Great mood - an image that I wouldn't tire seeing over the long haul. I like the contrast between the small trees and the large bare trunks.
