Tiers of Gold

Fairbanks is known as the Golden Heart of Alaska. Some say the nickname is due to the gold mining in the area Others say it's due to the golden fall colors of the birch and aspen boreal forest. Interestingly the golden birch leaves are also heart shaped. Personally I go for the golden fall colors theory. They are truly striking for a brief time every year.

Well named and well seen.
The contrast is very dramatic. The leaf texture and edges are stunning. Great line from upper right to low left center.
