Another Osprey shot from a month ago. Left a little more room this time since my last Osprey post some of you recommended that I leave a little more room. This was cropped about 45%, desaturated slightly, sharpened and straightened. I believe the fish is a rainbow trout but I'm not exactly sure. Please see larger size for commenting and critiqueing. Thanks for looking. Have a great week.

David, Chalk up another one for the Nikon guys. I think the fish is a trout. I like the pose with the wings up. Sharp as usual.

Saw a Kite at San Joaquin this morning, Images too soft, as usual. I need some of that David magic.

Sweet action and the background is at the perfect distance to provide context without being distracting.... the look on the fish and the view of the talons is amazing.

cool shot, David. I like the setting and the trout with the water flying off it looks great. compositionally, I think this looks good--I like how the bird has some room to fly into, and even a little looser would be ok as I think it shows the crop a little.

Nice catch!
Good technique to pan with a tripod and a heavy 600! I gave up trying - just too awkwrd for me.
Nice trout, good wing position, and great water drops.
Sweet!

Very nice action shot and I love that you've managed to capture it with the eye of the Trout in plain view as well as with the water droplets falling from it. From my own experience I know that capturing great detail in the feathers of an Osprey is not easy, but I think you've manage that very well too, all in all, a great job David :^)

Kind regards,

Ashley

Very nice flight shot David. The trout is nice as is the bird's flight position. Bird is nice and sharp against a good BG. Well done.

Nicely done David. Great wing position and I like that the eye and the red of the gills are so obvious. Composition looks fine to me as does the setting. This shows just how quickly Osprey orient their fish prey to the head-first position.

Great capture. I love the way it shows the Osprey's typical cross footed hold on a capture when transporting it. :toast:

Excellent flight shot and good timing to get this. I like the wing position, the look and the trout in the claws. The larger image looks great, well done.

Good one, David. The up curve of the trout goes well with the sweeping lines of the oprey's wings.

Wonderful shot, David! The position of the talons in the back feet is very fascinating. The low angle, reeds in the background, wing position - all make this a top notch image. Perfect techs. :toast:
