Cooper's With Sparrow

Out of the back yard. This juvenile had been coming by regularly to see if it could catch some of the birds that use our feeders. This was the only time I saw success. I ended up walking around the pool slowly so that it got used to seeing me and then moved in a couple of feet at a time. The final distance was about 30 feet.

Great action. Do you have more room on top and bottom so it doesn't feel quite so tight?

Love the shot Rick. Great look at this bird with its prey. The only thing I would like to see is a bit more room on top. Really cool shot.

Really nice shot Rick, tack sharp. I'm surprised it tolerated you being that close. I agree a bit more room at the top might be ideal.

Detail in this is great. I agree with the room at the top, but also looks like it needs a touch of NR on the BG once I viewed the larger version.

Nice detail in the bird and his prey. A bit more room all around would be nice if you have it.

Thanks for the comments. No extra room at the bottom, but there is on the other three sides. I had come in tighter to reduce the influence of the brighter tree trunks in the back and the branch on the left. I've opened it up to what is available in the frame here.

Great action shot. The hawk is nice and sharp. Poor sparrow.

That little bit of extra space helps for me.

I like the 2nd post much better with more room on top. Good feather detail and good job on approaching the hawk, well done.

A bit gruesome but that's nature. A real true to life image with great impact. Detail and sharpness is superb. Graham
