This photo was taken in the early morning hours at the Newman Wetland just south of the city of Atlanta. The weather was sunny and clear but chilly.

I used a Canon EOS 7D with a Canon EF 100 - 400 5.6 IS USM Len set at 400 mm mounted on a Bush Hawk support

ISO: 1250

F Stop: 5.6

Speed 1/640

Photo was cropped from 5184 x 3456 to 3185 x 3185

I'd like to see more dof in this but maybe not possible with a long lens and high ISO. (I still struggle with dof so take that with a grain of salt) I like the head turn and full front pose. the reflection is also a nice addition.

I think you got a good one Paul. I especially like the reflections of the tall green foliage and the position of the mallard among them. There isn't much going on, on the right side of the frame and I would be tempted to try cropping from the right just bit to take the bird off center somewhat and put more emphasis on the interesting parts of the image. Just a suggestion to try, as it is quite good as it is.

I like this with the soft colors. I would suggest a crop from bottom and left, to place the duck in the lower right 3rd of the photo. Sharon

I feel it's a neat comp especially the reflection designs created and the bubbles however I find the noisy bg a bit distracting and feel some NR would really help improve the image
