I happened to visit Kaziranga National Park recently, incidently my photographic journey began from this park. While the forest officer was writing the permit one morning, I happened to mention him that I first visited the place in 1990. He was surprised and asked, "you must be very young then". I replied, "Yeah! I was very young then but my photography was toddler, now my photography is young." And we had a good laugh after that.
This image's from recent trip.
Canon 7D; 500mm; ISO 400; 1/400 sec. at F 6.3
Thank you so much for your kind attention n views!

Jagdeep, I love the affection you have captured in this image. Affection is not an emotion I normally think of when viewing images of these massive animals, so it is nice to see a photo which brings up a different feeling. Very nice!

Excellent image. I like the interaction between the rhino and the directional lighting really adds to the scene. The overall composition fits very nicely with the grass, bushes, trees and placement of the rhino's. Very nice detail on the larger image, well done and well seen.

That's a very emotional capture of such a great species. I like a lot.

Nice sensitive mood between the mother and calf captured. Must say one can never become an adult in photography. Lots of details in the image.

Lovely low angle, Jagdeep, and the 'armour plating' on the hides are shown very well.

Hi Jagdeep,

What everyone else said - I really like this! If one looks closely, it does look like you had challenging lighting here but handled in very well (so much so that the image looks extremely natural and the lighting looks simply beautiful). Good job on the exposure on the capture, the processing, or both!!

One VERY tiny nit - on my monitor (and on the larger version) it looks like the skin on mom's left side is just very slightly over-sharpened. But it's really trivial and in now way interfere's with the success of the image...

Very well done - thanks for sharing this excellent image...

Just beautiful Jagdeep. I like the protective sheltering of the young one under the chin of mom. I also like that they are not looking directly at your camera (although they might be looking at someone else.). Excellent exposure. :toast:
