Spring comes early in southeast Texas. I actually took these paper whites (narcissus) in mid January. They are always the first flowers of the spring in our garden and are a cause for anticipation. All comments welcome.>=))>

Hi Bill! Nice photo and very pretty flowers. I like your DOF and lighting. The detail in the little butter cup centers, especially in the top left bloom, is very nice.

This shot makes me jealous. It will be awhile before my garden shows anything similar.

Beautiful shot, Bill! Great presentation and DOF. I hate you cause i can never come up with anything bad to say about your posts  Thes kind of remind me of daffodils--the general shape of the flower that is. :wavey:

Perfect exposure and well seen from this great BG Bill.
Just the right amount of space around the flowers, excellent details too..
Well done! :toast:

These kind of remind me of daffodils--the general shape of the flower that is.

Stan: They are in the same general family. The primary difference is size. These blossoms are only about an inch in diameter. Thanks for the compliment. Maybe I'll post some landscapes to give you an opportunity to dog me a little    >=))>

Masterfully done and very likely exactly what you wanted and expected, but I am still trying to figure out why this kind of light balance and contrast is so popular with flower photographers. How did you light these, if I may pry? My big yellow daffies are going right now, but it will be a while before I see my paper whites.

Robert: Nothing fancy or tricky here, just a nice high cloudy sky. This was shot outside with a dark forest as the BG. One reason this light is so popular with us Flora folk is the lack of shadows and how the whites and colors can be rendered. >=))>
