We went to the zoo last weekend , where I got to try out my new DSLR for the first time. Hope you like it. I got really tired of my trusty Canon PowerShot SX IS giving me grainy photos

I may have over-sharpened , as I was so excited to get more detail. You tell me...

Without knowing your shooting parameters (raw or jpeg, ISO, shutter speed, aperture, exposure compensation) and the basics of how you processed this (amount of crop, exposure adjustments, shadow/highlight recovery, noise reduction, etc.) there's not much to suggest. but you've got a prominent halo around major dark areas (the raised wing, both necks) that could come from misuse of various processing tools.

I can feel your excitement! Oversharpening can cause some of the halo and as Richard mentioned, knowing your settings and processing info can sometimes help us to help you. Keep shootin'! Sharon

I did over sharpen. when I get a chance, I'll go back and process it correctly. Thanks...I never even noticed the halo!
