Chilean Flamingo

Here's a Chilean Flamingo from our recent time in Ecuador. This was taken at the Salinas Ecuasal lagoons in Southwest Ecuador. These commercial salt lagoons are a fantastic place for waterbird photography. There were several hundred of this species present, one I had always wanted to photograph.

This was taken out an open car window. This one was moving fast, even at 1/2500 there is still a lot of motion blur in the legs. It's about 65% of FF

I really like the way you have captured the legs swinging around. Not the most graceful flight I have seen, but a beautiful bird. Very nice composition.

Like those splayed legs, they give the bird a "discombobulated" look
Great comp & hand-held technique to pull it in this nicely Nate.
Well done & have a great weekend! :toast:

A fun shot with a comical pose! I like the little drops off the hind foot and the attempt at grace! Sharon

Looks like an awkward landing (or take off) but I really like the feet position and the comp looks good, way to go.
