Leaves and Stones

This is an older image from 2006 that I recently rescanned and reworked. The leaves are Alder and Cottonwood. I really liked the patterns of the leaves scattered among the small stones.

180mm Fujinon
Velvia 100

I like this very much. You have taken an easily overlooked scene and made it quite captivating.

I like it! The warmth is nice. I love the heart shape of alder leaves too. I can see a lot of details and elements of this that would really make an engaging print.

A remarkable intimate scene, I especially like the delicate reflexions in the lower half.

Well seen and captured Preston. Intimate is the word I thought of as well. Excellent color throughout and nice work on the processing. A lovely fall image that indeed should make a great print. I'll look forward to seeing all your new prints!

Stunning image, Preston. The detail and color are really superb, and I love the blue reflections and how they complement the yellow. Feels like the viewer could reach in and touch these leaves. A large print has to be an amazing sight.

Brings me right back to late fall, when you can smell those beautiful decomposing colorful leaves. I think the blues in the reflection are key to holding my interest.

This is very nice. A 'slice of life' kind of feeling. The blues in the fg really work to keep the leaves from being redundant and the rocks add texture. nicely done

Love the yellow leaves with that beautiful touch of blue reflection Preston. Fall is my favorite season so this speaks volumes to me. Beautiful autumn scene!

There's a lot of beauty in this chaos, Preston, and it would take a sharp eye to spit it in the field. It feels a bit over-exposed to me. It seems like the yellow colors would be a bit richer with a bit less exposure.

The smattering of blue sky reflection really ties this scene of leaves and stones together nicely. This looks exactly as I would expect to see it wandering along the forest floor. Good stuff!

Preston,

The luminance in the photo is incredible. I love the leaf patterns and the blue highlights of the reflected light.

Many thanks for your comments, everyone! I really appreciate it.

Tony--I went back to my master file and tweaked the brights of the leaves a bit using your luminosity masks. Thanks for the tip.
