Was getting down on my elbows thinking that this was the best looking gator I'd seen all day.

Looks almost like it is extending a dinner invitation! I like the water and reflections, and the way the under water jaw is seen. The meniscus of water around the eyes and snout is a nice touch. The larger photo especially gives a sense of looming and powerful presence. Makes one want to get up off one's elbows pdq!

I really love how the first impression is that this might be the eyes of a small 'gator, then as the rest of the underwater head sinks into consciousness, he gets really big fast! Super. I also appreciate that this is one of the rare alligator images I have seen with a genuine highlight in the eye!

I like this a lot Wayne, particularly the fact that you can see the rest of his huge head and jaws under the water surface; very intriguing and a bit scary! Composition, DOF, details and colors are also great! Excellent work.

Wayne, this hs to be one of the better gator images I have seen. Love that I can still see the rest of the head under the water, but that it is also subtle. The gaze from him is awesome.

And the Gator is saying "This is the closest a photographer has been all day". Wonderful perspective and composition. Good detail around the eyes and then you see the rest of the gator just under the water that really adds to the image, way to go, excellent shot.

Nice shot Wayne. I really like how you can see the rest of the head underwater; I've never been able to capture that before. Nicely done!

Great colors in this image, Wayne. I really like that you just make out the outlines of the jaws under water, giving a sense of it's size. Very nice image.

Great image Wayne. As everyone pointed out the colors and underwater gator are fantastic. I'm trying to figure out how close you had to be to get this. Even with a 300mm + 1.4 TC you had to be pretty darn close!

I love how you can see the top of his head, the reflection of his eyes, and then more of his head underwater! The colours look very nice, and I like the catchlight in his eye.
His eyes really hold your attention!
I wouldn't be getting down on my elbows with this guy!
