The high key was nice, but I think I am partial to the black Bill. Nice shooting.

This works very well Bill. If I had to choose, I would go with the high key version - but I like this one OK too.

I think the variety of blue tones comes out for me just a touch more strongly in the high key version, Bill, but both are lovely. I especially like the arcs - they are a great compositional feature but also so `irisy' - and the placement of the smallest flower in the centre.

I like the high key Bill but I prefer the black. No surprise there I guess. (smile) What a comp.

Very nice comp Bill. I prefer this one over the white bg. Nothing to add except to say If you miss a couple days in this gallery you miss some incredible work, and it's hard to catch up. Life is busy.

I think the first one works slighly better than this one Bill for my tastes.

I also like the high-key better, but this is still so striking. Masterful work, Bill!

Add another vote for the high key version Bill! This is striking as well, but the brighter one just grabs at me more.

Bill, I am trying to find an answer, in myself, why I prefer the white backgound to the darker one, that is so elegant and where the light suites so well the blue color. May be because the Iris is a flower of the country, very rustic - at least in Italy - and the elegant, mysterious dark is not natural, with it?
Bill, have you tried to unify the dark color of this image with the white background of the previous one?
Cheers.
