Lyttelton lightscape

I shot this a week ago from a gorgeous little coastal town of Lyttelton, New Zealand, which tragically happened to be the epicenter of the infamous Christchurch quake the very next day. I don't know what was the building giving me that nice flare but I hope it's still standing. Unfortunately, that is not the case for 60% of the old Lyttelton main street buildings.

As for the picture, the light was gorgeous but very intense and I didn't expect much this quick shot. I didn't even notice the reflecting building which only later attracted my attention. I'm really not sure about the composition though.. I probably should have included more water at the bottom. What do you think?

I slightly reduced the clarity for the FG(sea and the mountains) for that dreamy feel while adding clarity and some extra blues for the sky.

Your picture has a kind of delightful weightlessness. The tight crop at the bottom leading the attention to the sky fits in well with the character of this scene. I like the reflexion at the top of the mountain as focal point, still more leading to the sky. A fine balanced composition!

I like the comp as is, Andrius, with only a sliver of water. The golden light is great. I would be tempted to clone out the building reflection, though it isn't that distracting as seen.

Terrific shot. The building makes a nice focal point among all that wonderful light.

No nits! The light is great and the water exists only as a place for the light and the mountains to end. A strong, simple and well balanced photo.
