Moon Over BB Pond
by Tom Haxby
Have you ever played hooky from your day job just because you knew that the conditions were just right for a good photo and you dreaded another day in your cube at the office? Well .......
As the moon was setting in the west with the sunrise to the east this was quite the scene. Fortunately, the ice fishermen reported that the ice was 7" thick as I was heading out onto the frozen pond for the best view.

Honestly, no - but I've wanted to so many times when it snows! Love the interesting sky color here. This seems to be one of those shots where a lot of people would insert a larger moon. Nice to see it in a natural state here.

the composition is unique :)
what if you reduce the upper part and give a bit more space in the bottom

Tom,
Magical photo. We have pink and blue skies that dark in Tx all the time. So, no problem with the dark sky, especially against the white ice.
IMHO the ice,the colors, the diagonal of the trees and the snow make this phenomenal. The moon is beautiful. If only it were a little to the right. But, if wishes were horses...beggars would ride.
Absolutely beautiful symmetry and simplicity.
Can't decide if I like the 3 trees on the left, but there are 2 trees on the right to match. I'd put a simple border around the photo, so the ice really stands out!
