Great image, Graham. I like the very, very low angle ( how can you have done it with such a long lens !? ), the beautiful colors of the bird and the nice natural habitat.

A great shot of an attractive subject. The narrow depth of field is so evident from looking at the snow / ice directly under the bird and you certainly nailed it.

Great picture. Love the low angle and the sharpness of the entire bird. The subtle colors in the feathers are a plus.

I really like this, the low angle, the little bit of foliage and the muted colors. Maybe just a touch more sharpning in the head area?

Nice sharp detail in this beautiful bird. I like the low angle. He's a little centered though and I think more room on the top and right would help.

Very nice. Tack sharp and a sweet color palette. I'd like a little more room on the right for the bird to "look" into.

Is this a recent photo? In North America, Snow Buntings have molted into breeding plumage by now. They usually arrive in Interior Alaska in about two weeks.

Great habitat Graham, looks to be a perfect setting for a snow bunting. Lovely pose, light, colors and head turn.

I recognise that bird  . You got some nice light didn't you? It's a cracking image. I agree it might take a little sharpening around the face.

Oh, man, I miss those birds. Emotion aside for a moment - I think this is a little too documentary. Don't get me wrong. I would be thrilled to have made this photograph. It just doesn't really engage me.

Pete D. may just be disengaged today.
