Evening Grosbeak

Here's another Evening Grosbeak from near the feeder. I slightly brightened the eye to help it stand out. I sure love this species and am lucky to have a wintering flock for the second straight winter. This time around, it is about 90% males, which are of course spectacular, but I would like to get some shot of the females too.

I can see why you like this bird, very colorful. I like the pose and directional light to see the good details (even the feet look good). I might be inclined to tone down the wood perch just a bit but a minor thing. Wonderful shot showing the interesting color scheme of this species,
way to go, well done. :toast:

Great detail and setting Brian. I like the angle of the perch and the way the bird is almost resting up against it

cheers

Beautifully done Brian. I've never seen one of these in the wild. :toast: The sharpness of the large version is very impressive.

Wonderful detail and excellent color. I wish I saw them more often here in AZ like I did in our back yard in NJ.

Wonderful exposure control on a difficult subject Brian, especially in a snowy setting. Love the light, the pose and eye contact. Lovely details & sharpness too.
