This Monarch butterfly is hanging on a butterfly bush. The background is the natural sky; not photoshopped in. I use this picture for my avatar for all my accounts.
Panasonic DMC-FZ28. 83mm at F/8 for 1/500 sec. ISO 100.

This is lovely Carolyn. What I like is the position of the Monarch and the way it fits in the frame. Colors are beautiful and it's sharp throughout. I might like a bit more breathing room around the butterfly. I can see why this is your avatar!

I really like the blue sky/soft clouds background. It works very nicely to showcase the butterfly.
