Recumbent Pansies

My daughter's friend works for a nursery here. And, since it was the end of the pansy season, they were giving plants away. My daughter brought me some, which I carefully photographed and spread the seeds.

It took quite a few exposures to not blow out the white fuzzy centers. But, I think I've succeeded.

At first, I thought about not using the yellow one, as it was beginning to wilt. Then, I decided, that it actually gave the composition more depth.

Beautiful image Lucy. I'm glad you kept the yellow one. Love the colors, light and composition. This is not a suggestion but given the flow of the composition in the flowers alone, I could certainly see a version of this without the stem running across the image. Not a suggestion as much as an alternative.

Well composed Lucy. One of the better pansy images for my tastes. Keeping the yellow pansy was a "good" decision.

Very painterly Lucy, love the trio of primary colour. I don't mind the stem ,but the leave anchors my eye to the out side edge. Lovely work!

Lucy, I kind of like the repost without the stem. Puts all the focus where it belongs, on the nice flowers!

I vote for the stemmed over the disembodied version. This is an unusual and striking image. Good job.

Lucy: Eye candy! The large version is especially sweet. Terrific colors and I like the pano crop. Bravo! >=))>
