Hi guys! I don't get over here as much as I'd like. The truth is, I just don't shoot enough M&N images. But this pretty much forced my hand  From, guess where, Yosemite Valley Last Saturday morning. larger version included. Thank you for your thoughts.

I really like all the snow on the trees. My idea of fun, though, would be to be out in this on snow shoes or skis, not my car.

You should post here more often Chris! We need the business. BTW - I hate driving in snow and had to do a lot of it in the NE this year. This emulates my love hate relationship with winter in general. I love snow and the beautiful scenerey, to get out and about with snow shoes, crampons, gaitors, etc. I absolutely hate driving in it. Tomorrow we are expecting another 3 - 6 inches of snow, sleet, rain, ice. I especially hate sleet and ice which is very common here........ Anyway,.beautiful image that will haunt me until spring!

I agree, driving in it isn't fun. I was running around in the powder without snowshoes getting my pants and shoes freezing wet. Now that's the fun part. The green jeep in the image is mine. We're in for some potential snow down to sea level in the next two days and 4 or more feet of new stuff in the mountains. Not sure If I'm gonna make another trip up into the mountains, as my first grandson is due today, actually! So anytime now we are hoping.

Wonderful winter scene from the Yosemite Valley Chris. Have yet to get out there, I was planning to go last winter but something came up last minute.

when everything goes wrong on a trip, our family's saying is, "Are we having fun yet?" Perfect title :wavey:

Chris, I was there the previous weekend looking for snow, and not a bit anywhere in Yosemite.
NOW, with possible snow down to sea level this weekend (VERY rare in this part of CA) I'm going to be out looking for snow on all the daffodills, narcissus, camellias, and fields of yellow mustard that have bloomed.
I'm with everyone else - fun to PLAY in, rotten to DRIVE in.
Nice image to shpwcase this!

This is a great shot Chris. It really shows the conditions you had, and the chance for some of those great winter images you get. Driving in these conditions is always the worst part. I have done a lot of it, but still not fun. Looks like you have a good vehicle to get around in anyways.

CC,

Is that my truck with the lights on coming your way? Sure looks like it.

It was a fun time playing in the snow.

I bet that most tourists would look at a photo like this and think to themselves, "Gosh, I'm glad we had good weather! Poor suckers..." I can't imagine better conditions for a trip to Yosemite, though. Awesome. Seems like most of the national parks are empty at the best times of the year (good for us).

Thanks !

Jason, I couldn't agree more. Yosemite has something special about it in all seasons, but winter is extra special IMO. I was amazed that usually I was alone or just another person or two at most for the first hour or so each morning. Those folks not wanting to get up early, or be cold are missing out on the best reason to be there.

Harley, not sure if that was you or not. I was kind of oblivious at that moment. It does look like your rig though.

Thanks,
Chris
