Playa Longosta

This is a beach in Costa Rica and the ocean is that blue/green. I used a 3 stop GND to hold back the sky. This is a record for me-I currently have photos in five different NPN Galleries, not a lot of traffic in some of those galleries so feel free to check them out.

Wow, this is really dramatic colour. I find it a touch over-saturated though. I like the movement in the water and there is nice diagonal balance between the rocks in the foreground right and the sun in the top left.

Beautiful scene but this has the same issues with color as Jared Atencio's recent post.

I like the depth of the image and the way the eye is lead into the background, but I also feel the colors look a bit over saturated.

Todd,

I like the repost much better. The saturation clue for me is the foam. I know that ocean water can have that blue/green beautiful look, but at least to me, the foam should be more white. also, the wave line just below the sun was a bit purple. Having said that, you've got a beautiful seascape working here. I really like the flow and motion of the water.

My only other suggestion is darkening the bottom portion more - at least selectively. Looks to me like a 2stop grad would have sufficed. Minor tweaks as this is real close.

I like the colors in version 2 much better. The movement in the water give this a painterly feel. Great shot!

Great job in pulling out some color in the scene Todd. The water texture is nice addition too.

This has almost a fairy tale quality to it. The colors, the light, the clouds almost feel like they're part of a make-believe story.

Todd, this is beautiful! All the texture of the rocks and water flow/waves along with the gradation of color in both water and sky make this a really picturesque sunset image with a lot of interest. Very nicely done.

Five galleries! You've been a busy guy.

This has a lot of drama, though I would echo Lon's comments regarding the color and brightness. To my eye, it looks too contrasty throughout, though it's clear you're dealing with a ton of dynamic range here, and have done a good job trying to tame it.

Nice seascape! I like the repost much better. I think you could pull back further still in the reds/yellows in the sky. Mainly on the left side and around the sun.
