Another taken a couple of weeks ago at the LWT. Although the male Mallards are more colourful, in nice light, the females can look stunning, especially against a nice blue sky

Nikon 200-400mm at 400
Handheld
F4
1/2500s
ISO 640

Slight lifting of the shadows under the wing, tiny crop, USM

Hi Oscar,

Light looks good and position in the frame is good. A nice capture.

A blue sky? Not sure I remember seeing one of those

A very nice shot, Oscar.

The females certainly do look good, especially with the warm light highlighting the brown plumage colours.
A well captured shot.

Lovely image, Oscar. Processing looks good to me, too. (How many weeks ago did we have that sunshine at LWC??!!)

Beautiful light and well captured Oscar. Blue sky looks lovely and great detail. 'Birds in flight' when there's good light like here- the best setting is F8 the depth of field is bigger, bringing the whole bird into focus, your shutter speed then would have halfed- 1/1200 still good for sharpness, but better depth of field at F8. Hope that helps Oscar hope I dont sound like a smart arse  just giving you a bit of advice   :wavey:

F8,ISO 400,(in good light-poor light ISO 1000 and F5.6) +0.3EV Matrix pan, follow bird and pick up as early as you can with the camera is what I use/do  :wavey:
