A friend of mine had his name pulled for a door-prize at an event he was crashing (our 10-year HS reunion). He had the choice of a variety of sweet tours and products, and he gave it to me; now that's a friend! I picked a day cruise to Tracey Arm and had a fantastic time. No single image could summarize the experience, but this photo relates much of the impact that the beauty had on me.

That's great, Kent. Really good job on this. You managed to get the details through the fog. Well done. And....I gotta get to SouthEast some day!

In my experience rain and fog are synonyms for Alaska.
The moods evoked by these atmospheric changes are quite varied and each carries a unique ambiance.
I like the oblique and vertical lines peeking through the mist.

Great job of capturing this. I've tried similar scenes many times around PWS and never seem to get it right. I like the way you took advantage of the angular slope, got the detail of the trees, enough green to get the rain forest feel, and all enshrouded with fog. One of my favorite aspects of this image is that you effectively captured the little threaded falls coming down the cliff. That really adds puts me there as a viewer. I feel damp just looking at this image.

I feel like I just sat through my photography class for the day. Thanks for posting.
