What a great pose to showcase the eyes and "ears"!
That residual bit of prey on the bill is a nice addition, and the habitat is a plus too.
If you have a bit more room on top, I'd add that in and crop out a bit of the OOF grass on the bottom, moving the owl into the lower 2/3 rather than dead-center.
Great catch!
Sandy

Sweet catch Michael, where's the fence post? I like the intense stare giving us a great look at the details of the face. I agree with Sandy, the presence of recent hunting activity really adds to this photo - nicely done.

Nice one Michael, good detail, nice habitat. I like those staring eyes and the similarity in colors of the background and owl. Very nice!

I like the nestled position and the detail is the best out of all the SEO images you've put up on here. Well done

I agree with Luke. This has tremendous detail Michael. Those eyes almost looked cross eyed to me but man, are they sharp. Sandy mentioned the residual bit of prey on the bill and I too think that is a nice addition to this image. I would love to have this in my collection Michael. Well done.

Wow, twenty feet away huh? This is really nice! Good low angle, habitat, colors, sharpness...all of it! I think I would crop off the bottom a bit but that's it. Good job!

Nice Michael. A bit less on the bottom and more on the top would strengthen the comp IMO. Awesome detail in the face.

Michael, I really like all the earthy tones here with the plumage patterns contrasting with those of the grass. Nice look at the "ears". For my tastes the owl is a bit too centered but that's not a nit, just a personal preference. I also sometimes get this almost "crossed eyes" look from this species. Very nice.
