raccoon
by John Tobias
Happened to spot this young raccoon crossing the road and climbing up a tree. Could resist stopping for a few shots.

5 commentsCute little devil! Nice natural frame and the positioning of the raccoon in the "crotch" of the tree is appealing. I also like the glimpse of the tongue - adds another bit of visual interest. Two "out-of-your-control" things detract just a bit - it's a shame that the sky is so featureless and so light-coloured and I'm wishing that the snag originating on the right bottom of the frame wasn't there (tho' it's really not too distracting). The raccoon does look just a tad soft (focus-wise) and perhaps a bit of selective sharpening might help make it pop a little more.
Cheers...thanks for sharing this one..

Great capture. The tongue adds a nice touch.
