Indeed a unique way to catch a sunrise! Fantastic looking cliffs! There is a lot to look at - the band of clouds, the cliffs, the rays. A stunning capture, not much more to add.

This definitely is an amazing shot and witnessing such a moment in person must be incredible. Criticizing such a magical shot is almost impossible, though I would brighten the tops of the mountains a bit and maybe darken the off center base clouds just a little.

Stunning capture indeed. Minor nit is the slightly tilted horizon.

A fantastic sky and composition! This looks like an interesting location with lots of photographic possibilities. I agree the horizon could be slightly raised on the right side to even it out. Nicely done.

wow that is one incredible scene you found yourself on this particular morning. this will make a great wall hanger once you deal with the minor nits already mentioned. it looks as though when you tried to brighten up the hilltops that were too dark from the GND you also brightened the sky above? this, along with dust, scratches and condensation are the resons why I never use GNDs. they are meant to save time in post processing but they always seem to cause me more problems then anything. with those nice sharp cliff edges this is a pefect canidate for an exposure blend. i say ditch the filter!
a shot like this is inevitably going to take you a few attempts with processings to get it ust right so have another whack at it!
congrats on the epic capture.

Wonderful, stunning image Alex. I agree with Andreas, it looks like your ND grad hit the mountain tops a little too much. You should be able to lighten them a little.

Wow, this is epic!!! The composition is great and the varied textures between ground and sky work perfectly. I tend to favor more natural processing and would be inclined to back off the reds a bit, but that's strictly personal preference (plus I wouldn't be surprised if this was exactly how the scene looked in person). Beautiful work! :toast:

A beautiful sunrise with lots going on!
I too would try to bring out a little detail on the tops of the hillsides even though they are in a shadowed area.
The tilted horizon bothers me but that's an easy fix.
Your composition with the s turn in the stream and the illuminated sky and clouds are great!
Congrats on a photo I'd love to have in my portfolio!

You captured great conditions with a decent composition...however I think the horizon line is giving you two problems - one it's near the halfway mark draining dynamic energy from the composition and two it's tilted. Also I'd like to see more of the river...but maybe that doesn't work here.

The s-curve is nice, the processing looks very nice. It is a strong image!

Man, we need to just implement a "check this box if you think the horizon is tilted" button IMO. Save a lot of extra typing that way. I'm looking as hard as I can and can barely see the slightest of tilts here.....Peter Lik's new $25,000 piece looks like it has much more of a horizon tilt than this. //www.peterlikexposed.com/archives/262

I really like the shot. If there was more of that river/stream bend at the bottom I'd have probably liked to have seen more of it. There's probably a good reason you composed it the way you did though. One artistic note I will add is that the grad has darkened the sky a lot. That's not a bad thing but the rays could be dodged more in contrast to the sky, making for a stronger focal point. I'd probably take a small brush and mid-tone dodge strokes and bring out the rays just a little more if it were mine. Beautiful as-is though. Certainly never seen a photo from here before.

I would like to see more of the cliffs and river so the horizon isn't dead center. Great colors, its hard to tell the scale, how big are these cliffs?

Wow. Wonderful and incredible image. Nothing to say. I would like to see also a vertical composition focusing on the meandering stream and the god beams on the clouds, i think it might strenghthen even more the image since there is a perfect connection of land and sky, focusing on the really graphic elements. The only thing missing here is Moises opening the seas with his stick :):):) Well done!

Thank you very much for your very helpful. I'm impressed with the high level of this community.

This is one of my best images and I had worked a lot on it and until now I didn't perceive the tilt horizont. Thank you for look!

About the top cliffs I agree with you and I can't improve a little more on this are. I also noted that I can brighten a little more the black clouds near the horizon level.

About the composition shoud be great to have a higher point of view to show a little more of the stream, however there isn't nothing near this point that to me is the best to explore the rays. If you want to know a little more of this place take a look on this gallery with other images of this fantastic location - www.pbase.com/alexuchoa/beberibe
