Short Eared Owl

At last I made it to see the short eared owls. This fellow didn t dissappoint he was a right show off posing for at least 30 photographers, it was an amazing sight one I shall never forget. This is just one of many just got to go through them all now. Forgot to add cloned out an irritating piece of grass that looked like it was growing out of his head.

Love the fact you got the feet! To me they have the best feet and legs. Great capture! :toast:

Very nice background and I like the way the owl is presented. I would probably have a tendency to cut off the post -- but I like including the pose as presented. very nice

Really nice light Karen. Great look at the bird. Bird is sharp against a great BG. For me the newness of the post and wires detracts a bit, but still a nice image.

Karen,

Outstanding capture. I really like the eyes which appear to glow.

Karen,
I really like the light and the look of this owl. If this were mine, I'd try to take off the second barbed wire with a bit of the post. Great capture. :toast:

Karen: Beautiful light for this shot. Perch is OK but not ideal. Maybe a tighter crop to minimize the post? Still a great capture. :toast:

Gorgeous Karen, especially with that wonderful warm light. Really terrific background as well. I think the perch is just fine, especially that's where you tend to see these guys (especially around here). The repost is certainly "cleaner" but I also like the original as posted.

Lovely evening light Karen and the detail in the larger image is superb. I just can't imagine 30 photographers at one place. The most I've ever been with is two.

cheers

I really like the look the owl is giving and the directional light. Amazing that it stayed there with some 30 people clicking away, way to go. I just saw the second post and do like that better.
