Water Processing

I wanted to return to this spot (in my mind anyway) and try reprocessing an image from this past summer--wish it was like this now!! This exact capture not been posted, but a similar one or two have, before I began using PSE 7.0. So I adjusted the levels, made a color correction and tried to fix a major bright spot in the upper cascade, then used USM in the end. Larger posted, thank you for any C&C--there is still a bright spot or two, and some leaves fluttering at the SS. D90, ISO-200, 2.0 seconds, f-14.0, CPL, 18mm.

Bill, beautiful falls. I love the shutter speed you chose and the effect on the water. However, I still see several blown spots in the water. You might try to double process this and recover some of that detail in one image and then blend the two images. You can do this with PSE using an adjustment layer. I think Bernabe had an article on that here a while ago.

Bill, nice shot! I agree with walt on the few blown spots. I'm looking forward to getting together with you for a shoot sometime when the weather is better.

Walter, thank you for the advice. As I acknowledged, there are a few spots that still need to be fixed. Overall, which was my main intent on going back and posting this, I think it is "light" years (pardon the pun) ahead of previously processed posts from here (sorry for the alliteration!).

Sure thing Neven, think Spring!!

What a beautiful set of little falls! I might do some cloning of the little bit of sky in the top frame with foliage. Also could use a bit of CCW rotation. Hard to avoid leaf motion some days..I sometimes wonder if the falls themselves generate air movement? A very pretty scene.
