Sleepy Widgeon

A dozing American Widgeon. I added 2 in of canvas on the left and 1 in on the bottom to free up an even tighter original. While some will find the floating feather (above the tail) distracting, I decided to leave it in.

The feather's fine with me. That's some serious water color! Nice pose.

Nice colors but the double frame is a distraction to me. I like the feather

Wow, that is some color is right! I like the feather too. Nice detail. The rump white is not showing any detail and may be a bit bright. I might work on that area given the overall niceness of this shot.

WOW--that's some gorgeous water! nice sleeping pose, and I like the feather just fine--it has a sort of surreal oof quality to it that goes well with the water. I agree with Ron that it would be worth working on the whites a little. Really a great looking image. added canvas sure looks good too. :toast:

You are really laying down some nice duck close-ups lately Craig! Artistically presented and well captured. I like the feather btw. :toast:

Quite striking and I like the floating feather. It looks like an asterisk, which is appropriate for this lovely image. Great water color and nice detail in the feathers.

Very pleasing color combo between the duck and the water. I like the soft feel of the bird, highlighted by the fine textures of the top feathers.

The floating feather is more than fine with me Craig, I think it's a strong element in the image. A peaceful image with incredible water color.
