Another attempt from the kitchen, using flash. I'm kinda at a toss-up with the lower right hand leaf. I left it in for balance. All comments and critique needed for growth. Thanks.

I agree with you re: the leaf on the lower right....it does help to add balance....could go with or without it. On my monitor this looks a little underexposed??

Bob: No strong feelings about the leaf but I do like the image. I would be tempted to bring up the brightness 1/2 stop or so.>=))>

Beautiful image and comp. I do like Bill's suggestion concerning the brightness.

Bob:
Another vote for brightening.
The the leaf on the LLC is okay but wish there was a little some separation and not touching the rose.

That is love! The Qeen is taken in all his beauty. I love the gray background with elegant designs.
I like also the leaf to the right: it balances also the colors, adding more contrasting green, against the dominant red.
Take care.

Love the sultry tones of this rose, Bob, and the petals are superbly rendered against the grey bg ( a good advert for flash I would say !! ). Not too sure about the bottom leaf - it does add balance but looks a touch intrusive to me. Don't have an answer - this is lovely anyway.
