Mountain Hare

Gallery: Regional: UKNPPosted February 7, 2011173 views14 comments
1D Mk iv, 600mm f4 x1.4, 1/160s, f5.6, iso 800. Lens hood removed to minimise the effect of the gale.

Previous excursions for these had only resulted in "habitat shots" or bums over the horizon . Recently, we spotted one lone hare on the mountain and stalked it for an hour or so. It didn't move anything other than its nostrils as we managed to get as close as we dared. Funny animals....

Lovely stuff. I like the way the grasses have broken up a quite bland background.

A lovely image Ian, I also would like to see less room at bottom, and more to the right, but it's a cracker all the same!

A nice wild feel. You may want to change your copyright to 2011?
