I'm heading to the wintery but beautiful Yellowstone NP today and thought I would post one more photo from warm Ecuador. See ya in about 10 days.

All your comments and suggestions are very much appreciated.

Canon 40D, 100-400 @250mm, 1/80, f6.3, ISO 800, Better Beamer -1, a bit of noise reduction

Nice catch of this beauty!
Good colors and bright eye.
The BG could use some NR..
Have fun in Yellowstone!

Beautiful colors, pose and wing position. I'd loosen the crop all the way around if you have the space as this feels tight, especially in front of and over the bird.

Have fun in Yellowstone!

Good use of flash, and it probably aided in getting those wings up for this great pose.
Nice details and the birds wonderful iridescent colors are amazing..
Bit more room would be better IMO. Have a nice trip!
Well done :toast:

Love the bird, perch, and BG Ken. I too would back off on the crop to give the bird more room especially in front. I would also run some NR on the BG and not sharpen the BG if you did sharpen it. Have a great time in Yellowstone. I love it there in winter.
